On Tuesday, January 12, a major earthquake hit Haiti, causing a catastrophe for the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. The most powerful earthquake to hit Haiti in a century, it caused buildings to crumble and power lines to be knocked down, inflicting damage of major proportions. Many lives were lost, countless were injured, and most are now left without homes or supplies.
